The METTLER TOLEDO DR combined meters simplify something common in many industries: the simultaneous determination of density and refractive index. Measuring both values with the same Refractometers increases speed, simplifies procedures and enhances the accuracy of the results. Density and refractive index combined! Refractometer. Measuring principle: A high resolution optical sensor inside the Refractometer measures the total reflection of a light beam emitted by a special LED light source after hitting the sample. This total reflection is converted into refractive index, BRIX, HFCS or user defined concentrations. Even turbid or dark samples can be measured with this Refractometry. The accurate thermostating of samples with the built-in Peltier thermostat ensures reliable measurements (no water bath required). Refractometers. Taking measurements with a METTLER TOLEDO - Refractometers on site or in the field has many advantages: You save time, you can make adjustments right away and you do not have to worry about transporting samples to the lab. A digital Refractometer measures refractive index and other related values (I.e. BRIX°, HFCS, concentration, user defined units) with high precision and short measuring time. In many industries (e.g. petrochemical or flavors and fragrances) the determination of both values is already a standard method. In other industries, the simultaneous determination of density and refractive index with a Refractometer is used to determine concentrations in multicomponent mixtures. That is no problem for the DR combined Refractometry - besides the density and refractive index, they can also calculate up to two results from the density, the refractive index or from both results using formulas or concentration tables previously entered.
